NAI Alliance is pleased to announce the formation of their Investment Services Group with the recent teaming of four accomplished commercial real estate executives of diverse and complementary skills. They will become a core component of NAI Alliance, pursuing the area’s growing real estate investment opportunities and carrying forward NAI’s strategy to be the premier commercial real estate company in the Northern Nevada and Lake Tahoe Regions.

Michael Schnabel, Partner at NAI Alliance, will be heading the development of the Investment Services Group. In this role, Mr. Schnabel will represent institutional and private owners and investors in the acquisition and disposition of commercial properties in the greater Northern Nevada region. Mr. Schnabel has an extensive background in development, debt and equity acquisition, investor relations, and property ownership. Prior to joining NAI Alliance, Mr. Schnabel was a Partner and Senior Managing Director at CBRE, where he also owned CBRE’s Reno/Lake Tahoe office. He is a Founding Partner and Managing Member at Development ARTS and was a Founding Partner and Managing Member of Blackfire Real Estate Investors, where he held an interest until early 2012. Early in his career, Mr. Schnabel worked for the Wall Street firms of Merrill Lynch and Kidder Peabody. Mr. Schnabel is also the Chairman of the Board of Schnabel Foundation Company, a national design-build specialty contractor. He is also an active angel investor in Northern California and Northern Nevada with investments representing a diverse portfolio of companies. Mr. Schnabel earned an MBA in Finance and Real Estate from New York University and a BS in Commerce from the University of Virginia.

Ray Tuntland will be specializing in commercial land, development and redevelopment. He will utilize his experience in real estate investment opportunity creation and analysis in addition to client representation and brokerage. Prior to joining NAI Alliance, Mr. Tuntland began his career in Las Vegas, initially brokering industrial land. Ray then teamed with a partner to create Insight Development. Their first project, Insight Aircenter Sunset, was recognized by NAIOP as 1999’s best large-scale mixed-use office/warehouse development in Southern Nevada. Ray went on to found Tuntland Land & Development which developed a variety of commercial projects. To date he has developed nearly 670,000 square feet of industrial, flex-office, medical office and retail product and has been directly involved in the master-development of an additional 67-acres of commercial land. He’s also brokered around $110 million in real estate with an average transaction value of $2.5 million. Mr. Tuntland earned a degree in marketing and an MBA from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas.

Chris Shanks, Investment Associate at NAI Alliance, will be applying his breadth of knowledge in finance to the valuation and analysis of commercial real estate properties. A sixth generation Nevadan, Mr. Shanks has a solid understanding of the current market, pricing, negotiation and transaction process, delivering his clients custom fit solutions for their needs within their time frame. Chris has participated in brokering nearly $60 million in real estate with an average transaction volume of $3.75 million. Additionally, Chris has completed over 400 Broker Price Opinions totaling over $1 billion in commercial real estate valuations. Chris graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Finance and a minor in Economics from the University of Nevada, Reno, where he also achieved the Dean’s list. Chris is in pursuit of his Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation and is currently a Level II candidate. In addition to achieving the Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM) designation, Chris is also a member of the National Association of Office and Industrial Properties (NAIOP), the Reno/Sparks Chamber of Commerce and the Young Professionals Network (YPN).

Ashley Young, Team Coordinator and Marketing Specialist at NAI Alliance, assists in coordinating various projects and tasks in relation to the acquisition and disposition of the Investment Services Group assignments. In this role, her duties also include determining marketing strategies for property listings, the production and distribution of property marketing materials, business development collateral, market research and database and transactional management. Prior to joining NAI Alliance, Ms. Young acted as the Marketing Director for Avison Young, where she developed marketing materials for the investment, industrial and retail divisions. With over eight years in the commercial real estate business, Ms. Young has extensive experience in a wide variety of transactions. Ashley is a licensed Real Estate Professional in the State of Nevada.
